Popular Teeth Whitening Methods Used Today

What are the various teeth whitening methods and how effective are they? There are many advances around today in teeth whitening methods, all of them effective, which work using two simple principals.

When we were in our prime we all had white shiny teeth. Like so many other things, a gradual depreciation occurred and slowly without us really noticing it our teeth weren’t so white any more.

However, things have changed, and with just a little effort, we can now have that dazzling smile back at surprisingly little inconvenience and cost by using one of the several teeth whitening methods available to us today.

The first is by using a bleach chemical and the second method involves the use of non based chemical. Most of the teeth whitening treatments are carried out, under supervision, in a dentist's surgery. There are others that can be done in your own home without supervision. On the up side, they cost considerably less.

Here is a brief comparison of both basic teeth whitening methods.

Non-Bleach Teeth Whitening Method
The non bleach procedures can be readily purchased over the counter at your local chemist or cosmetics stores. Items that you can buy there are the teeth whitening strips and top quality toothpastes promising teeth whitening finish. These toothpastes are the ones used by dentists when you go to their surgery for an annual cleaning. With lots of determination and ample doses of elbow grease you may be able to bring your teeth back to as white as the driven snow

Bleaching Teeth Whitening Method
There are certain teeth bleaching procedures available that can cost plenty. These procedures however can also improve your’s teeth’s shading by almost 100%. By using just the slightest concentration of bleach, your teeth become whiter than you will have seen them for many years. Non-bleach whiteners are sold over the counter for sums upwards of $1,000.

The different types of bleaching procedures are as follows.

1. Teeth whitening using light-activation. This method is when the dentist shines a strong light on the teeth to bring about a quick and remarkable change in color. A single teeth whitening procedure costs around $500.

It can only be carried out at a dental surgery. The procedure is far from permanent, usually requiring an annual visit to ensure that the teeth will remain white.

2. Teeth whitening using light-activation. Dentists create a customized mouthpiece to cause the teeth to turn gradually white. This procedure costs around $300.

No matter which teeth whitening method is employed, it is recommended to consult a professional before performing any teeth whitening procedures. There is a possibility of reaction to certain of the procedures or chemicals in different ways.

The reaction of the patient can only be determined as the teeth whitening begins. Make sure that any teeth whitening methods using chemicals are carried out under the supervision of a qualified dentist.
